Which encoding should I use?

Strict (encodeURIComponent): encodes every special character including / ? & = : — best for parameter values.
Lenient (encodeURI): keeps URL structure characters and only encodes Chinese, spaces, etc. — best for whole URLs.
On decode, tick "Treat + as space" to correctly handle form-encoded (application/x-www-form-urlencoded) parameters.
